Here are a few examples taken from around the home and immediate surroundings.
This decayed quince had some lovely colors and shades and when I put it on a silver car sun shield it emphasized the form with light and shadows.
The second photo was an old piece of corrugated iron sitting discarded in a paddock next to our place and it looked kind of sculptural sitting in the paddock. I think the form works well with the colors which have been brought up a bit by saturation.
The green glass photo is a heavy base of a recycled vase and it reminded me of the shimmery shapes and colors in a swimming pool
Have fun with what is around you and learn to look in a different way at things you see.

These soap suds were left after a felt making session and I knew the soap suds would make some great shots. Try it out you will find all sorts of things jumping out from the soap suds – you don’t even need to make felt ! Some of the photos looked like strange creatures and some like faces or animals or just interesting shapes to photograph.
Take another look around your home to see what you can find – there are photographs everywhere and the usual and everyday just needs you to take a closer look. The photos below were just sitting on the bench when I noticed the colors glowing in the sun and thought they would take great shots.
The photo on the left is part of a fruit display sitting on the kitchen bench while the other is of butter sitting in a dish and had part melted and it had a gooey, oozey look that just looked right.
